And just like that she had me
enthralled by her beauty
captivated by her magic
The sunlight filtered past her changing leaves.
They fell gracefully, spinning, decorating the forest floor.
The deep green leaves still shaded the treetops.
A red leaf caught my eye like a jewel on the ground.
With eyes closed, I felt her peace
smelled her warmth,
heard the dance of the wind through the trees and over the lake..
My resentment at her for chasing my beloved Summer away melted.
I rested in her beauty
my soul restored
my heart full
ready for new adventures
with Autumn as my muse
